Information and bits of wisdom (hopefully)
CubMaster's Minute
SETTING STANDARDSAs Scouts and as school pupils, you spend a lot of time meeting standards. In school your work may be graded on a scale from A through F. In Scouting, you're asked to meet a set of standards before you can earn a skill award, belt loop or new rank. These are all pretty clear cut standards. Either you can tie a square knot and perform basic first aid, or you can't. There's nothing in between. We have other standards in this pack that are harder to measure. I'm talking about our standards of behavior, dress and grooming, and Scout-like conduct. When we go on pack or den outings, and these standards will be particularly important then. I'm not saying that they are not important all the time. But on outings you're not just John Smith, you're representing this pack and the whole Boy Scouts of America. I hope you'll all remember that and do your best to be neat and clean, wear your uniform when it's appropriate, and, above all, to conduct yourselves as Scouts should. That doesn't mean that you have to be a goody two-shoes. There's a time for horseplay, getting mussed up, and teasing. But in this pack, the standard is that when the horseplay and games are over, we look like Scouts, sound like Scouts, and conduct ourselves like by the Scout Law.

Volunteers“If you can give your son or daughter only one gift, let it be enthusiasm.”

Please give helping out with a Pack or den activity, or serving in a Cub Scout position, some serious consideration.
Cub Scouting is a family event. Our Pack asks that each parent or guardian help with at least one activity or event per school year.
Please remember that all of our leaders are also volunteers with only so much time that they can devote to scouting.
Without your help, we cannot provide the best possible scouting experience for our children.
Please talk to either the Cubmaster or the Committee Chair, for information about
helping out or volunteering for a position. There is plenty you can do, and we need your help. Please do your share!

I just want to take a moment and thank all the parents who have volunteered their time and expertise
in helping make this pack grow. It takes a special person to not only work with their own children, but
other children within the community to help them become better citizens and people.
Thanks for your tireless efforts!
